According to the 2003-2004 NSDUH approximately 434,000 (8.52%) of Washington (ages 12 or older) reported past month use of an illicit drug. 115,000 (2.25%) reported use of cocaine. Additional 2003-2004 NSDUH reported 158,000 (3.09%) illicit drug dependence or abuse within the last year. Approximately 111,000 (2.17 %) reported past year illicit drug dependence.

According to the NSDUH data approximately 10% Washington 12-17 year olds reported past month use of an illicit drug. 10,000 (1.81%) reported past year use of cocaine.

During 2005 Federal Agencies seized 604.2 kilograms of cocaine. During 2003, 34.3% of the federally sentenced defendants in Washington had committed a drug offense. More than 29% of the drug cases involved crack/powder cocaine.

During 2005 there were 62,494 admissions to drug/alcohol treatment in Washington. 1,327 (2.1%) were for abuse of cocaine, 4,133(6.6%) for abuse of crack cocaine.
