At Saint Jude Retreats our focus is to make you feel comfortable to talk about anything with our staff. The Saint Jude Program does not follow the disease concept of addiction, we do not tell you that relapse is part of recovery, and we will never tell you that in order to become sober you need to give yourself to a higher power. We, on the other hand, teach the truth about addiction; addiction is a choice you make and it is your choice to stop using or drugging. Now you might be asking yourself, 'well this is a bold statement', however it is within you as a woman/man of will, to do whatever in life you set yourself to do. In the science of Neuroplasticity numerous studies prove that our brain is a plastic organ that continues to evolve and change even after significant damage is done.
Indiana statistics for 2005 show that an estimated 403,000 citizens had an alcohol abuse or dependency condition, and an estimated 148,000 residents were addicted to drugs. Although these numbers seem alarmingly high, what is of more concern is that an estimated 385,000 did not receive alcohol rehabilitation and that 133,000 did not receive needed drug rehabilitation.
You have taken the time to seek help because of your "addiction" to Alcohol. You might be looking at rehab centers or treatment centers in Indiana and wonder what the best option for you is. Even if you do not choose St Jude's as your program, at least let us tell you one thing. You and only you can make change possible. You are not diseased, and your current circumstances do not need to dictate the course of your life from this moment forward. When you can call a Alcohol treatment center you will most likely talk to a caring person, but with the wrong message, being that addiction is a disease. Remember that no matter what you decide... you can change
