Many people cope with stress and stressful situations in a variety of different manners, which often include resorting to the use of substances to escape. Many times they choose alcohol because of how readily available it is and the social environments that surround the consumption of alcohol. The inevitable problem is whenever a coping mechanism is used there is a general tendency for abuse, and alcohol is no exception.
