If you are seeking help because you think you are an alcoholic in need of Alcohol Rehabilitation Center please read the following article.

Many people cope with stress and stressful situations in a variety of different manners, which often include resorting to the use of substances to escape. Many times they choose alcohol because of how readily available it is and the social environments that surround the consumption of alcohol. The inevitable problem is whenever a coping mechanism is used there is a general tendency for abuse, and alcohol is no exception.

Once this happens most people require assistance to overcome their choice, which usually ends up with some sort of enrollment into an alcohol rehab. Many times family members are involved in this process in order to make the appropriate choice of which alcohol rehabilitation center is the best choice for their loved one. And to make things even more complicated there are several different types of programs offered at each alcohol rehab center. There are two basic different forms of programs offered, the first is a 12 step based program, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, and the other is the freedom model, such as the Jude Thaddeus Program.

An alcohol rehab center that uses the 12 step approach is based on the premises that there is something wrong with the individual and they have a "disease" . These places inform their guests that they will need to be "treated" for the rest of their lives, which includes going to meetings and sometimes medicating them.

An alcohol rehab that use the freedom model uses a very different approach, based on research, which shows the individuals how it was a choice they made to start abusing alcohol and how it must be a choice by them to stop as well. This approach is a relatively new idea, resulting in a lower number of programs and alcohol rehab facilities that offer a program which use this approach.

As with all life changing choices that an individual must make during their lifetime, choosing the best way to get help is a difficult process that requires times, research, and thought. The simple fact that every person is different and has a different set of views, ideas, and beliefs means that there is not any one magic program that will work for everybody. However the overall success of a program can and should greatly influence the decision of whether to participate in a program or if the program is just a bottle of snake oil.

The St Jude Retreat Center offers an alternative to conventional Alcohol Rehabs. Since 1992 we offer a Non 12 Step residential program to completely overcome alcohol abuse. Call now for Help.
