Cocaine is readily available throughout the state.
According to the 2003-2004 data from the NSDUH approximately 77,000 (6.9%) of Idaho citizens (ages 12 or older) reported past month use of an illicit drug. 20,000 (1.78% reported past year use of cocaine. Additional 2003-2004 NSDUH results indicate that 31,000 (2.75%) Idaho citizens reported illicit drug dependence or abuse within the past year. Approximately 19,000 (1.73%) reported past year illicit drug dependence.
Out of 33.4% all high school students using in Idaho, 6.0 % reported lifetime use of cocaine. 2.4% reported past month use of cocaine. According to the 2003-2004 NSDUH data, approximately 10% of Idaho 12-17 year olds reported past month use of an illicit drug. 2,000 (1.85%) reported past year cocaine use.
Who attempts at getting help
During 2004 there were 6,497 admissions to drug/alcohol treatment in Idaho. 1.2% were for use of cocaine.
