Is Cocaine addiction a problem for you or a loved one? You’re not alone. When it comes to Drug addiction, the numbers seem to climb every year.
People in Minnesota know that addiction to Cocaine keeps growing. Staying on the treatment treadmill isn’t working so many of them are looking for a proven, research based, results oriented solution other than treatment with its cycle of recovery and relapse.
Relapse is often spoken of an absolute certainty when discussing Cocaine addiction. Unfortunately, most people who attend treatment not only are taught this but expect to experience it and it can then be a self fulfilling prophecy! Treatment promotes the idea of relapse because treatment doesn’t work. In Minnesota alone, of the 1,564 people who look for help with Cocaine addiction and go to treatment, 75% or 1,173 relapse. When you tell someone to expect what you have just given them to fail and then teach them it is their fault when it does, you have a return customer. Treatment focuses on abstinence and fear rather than helping people to recognize their own power to help themselves and move beyond addiction. Of course treatment fails but it is important to remember that doesn’t mean you or a loved one fails if relapse occurs. Instead it is time to look for a proven effective alternative that can work for long term success.
When treatment doesn’t work, a non 12 Step solution is an excellent and effective alternative.
