Why Teachers?

If you already examined our program, you may agree that addictions are not diseases, thus they do not need to be treated by doctors or physicians. This does not mean that as a consequence of abusing a specific drug or alcohol you do not need to be treated by a physician. ‘... there is a pattern of lung and other diseases associated with working down a coal mine. Thus a person who is a heavy drinker may show evidence of liver disease; this consequently doesn’t mean that the action of drinking is a disease itself.   

The Jude Thaddeus Program™ , based on over 20 years of research, touches on the core issues of why a person decides to abuse drugs or alcohol. This is taught by educators, professionals that will guide the guest through a program of self empowerment, developed maturity, and increased confidence. Education is the catalyst that demonstrates to the guest how to do the work necessary to find happiness. All too often, the conventional disease oriented patient who is attending a treatment center will say things like, “The therapist, (or program) did not work for me.” This, although true, is telling. Most patients attending these conventional 12 step based treatment centers are waiting for the magic of the program to fix them. Unfortunately this does not occur, as the method itself is ineffective, (this has been proven by countless independent studies for the last forty years) but also, the motive of the patient excludes them from being able to overcome their problem. Without the individual’s full accountability for getting their own life in order, the program can have little positive effect, regardless of the method. Sure it is true that conventional treatment models in the US are ineffective, but partial blame must be placed on the individual who is waiting for the “program to fix them.” An educational approach, such as the Jude Thaddeus Program™ , puts the responsibility of becoming happy and successful, squarely on the shoulders of the individual who caused the problems to begin with; themselves.

• 1982-1992 at Catholic Charities of Fulton.
• Administrative assistant in a New York State Division of Substance Abuse Services funded program (currently known as the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services). Duties included grant-writing, licensing of a state certified day care center, and supervision of personnel.
• Substitute teaching in various school districts.
• Volunteer services- Board of Directors of Catholic Charities, President of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTA), and a variety of other service organizations.

• Superintendent- (interim) 1 year Wheelerville Union Free School District.
• Military: two years active duty (Army).
• 24 years (Army Reserve).
• Married: wife Barbara.
• Children: Daughter/ three grandchildren.

Self Empowerment

Education demonstrates how to accomplish the tasks for success, but does not do it for them, thus creating self empowerment. Self empowerment is vital for the guests who will return home, to the same haunts where life failure was the norm. To face life in these familiar surroundings, the guest must have the ability to problem solve, and feel powerful, two traits that a substance abuser lacks while actively getting drunk and high. This is the key to why the Jude Thaddeus Program™ has the highest success rate in the industry. People learn how to mature and think again. They are able to see past the present moment and live in the future, creating a life based on positive goals and a drive to succeed.

The method of teaching people to be free thinking, and positive are time honored approaches that are proven to bring out the best in people. That coupled with what is taught in the Jude Thaddeus Program™ are a combination that has saved countless lives.

After 2 decades of working with people with a myriad of problems, the Jude Thaddeus Program™ continues to develop and evolve. Today, we are writing the eleventh edition of the Jude Thaddeus Program™ text. This edition, like all those before is based on the newest research, and the oldest proven principles known to mankind that have been proven to be successful. The basic building blocks of this program are the education and the dynamics of becoming more socially integrated into the world around us. We can sum up what the Jude Thaddeus Program™ teaches in two simple phases: more developed maturity and common sense.
