We are here to HelpMethamphetamine use in the state of Maryland has slimmed down immensely. In 1994 rehabilitations centers around the state reported 58 admissions in relation to Meth. By 1999 there were no admissions at all related to Methamphetamine. The death toll in relation to the drug has also immensely decreased from 16 deaths in 1999 to 1 in year 2000. Production of this drug in the state is extremely rare, and most that is available has been imported in private vehicles by Mexican criminal groups from California and Mexico. Wholesale distribution for the most part takes place outside of the state, many times in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The percentage of federal court charges in relation to Meth in Maryland are at a low 1.7 percent as compared to 14.5 percent nationwide.
