Marijuana use in Illinois is not the only problem Attorney General Lisa Madigan is faced with. She is faced with one of the largest uprising public health problems in their state…synthetic marijuana. It is sending teenagers and young adults to emergency rooms and to their graves. The Poison Control Center stated that they have more hospitalizations for synthetic marijuana than gunshot wounds and car accidents combined. Last year the poison center received 85,000 calls due to synthetic marijuana or also known as K2, Mr. Nice Guy, and Mr. Smiley to just name a few. These people who take it are playing Russian roulette because they don't know if it will just make them sick, have seizures, or cause death.
