Marijuana use in Kentucky has made it to third place in the United States for marijuana arrest rates and penalties for possession of one ounce. In 2007, Kentucky had 20,329 arrests for marijuana offenses. However, there has been a recent survey that was done in which Kentuckians supported and that want to legalize medical marijuana for those who are qualified as terminally ill or suffer from chronic severe pain. Kentucky legislators are fighting it and there will be a new bill introduced to support medical marijuana use for those who medically qualify for it.
