Total use of marijuana in the past month, according to the same survey, by people ages 12 and older is 33,000. 7,000 were ages 12 to 17, 13,000 were 18-25 and 13,000 were age 26 or older.

Eliot Naishat reintroduced his bill HB594 that would give those patients suffering from serious illnesses an affirmative defense against small amounts of marijuana possession. This would not protect them from being arrested but it would let that person be able to demonstrate to the judge that they use it for medical purposes.
