Why the Jude Thaddeus Program is so much more effective than 12-step and all other non 12-step programs.
Most programs focus on the problem of substance abuse and provide little to no information on how to overcome the problem. Why would a program spend weeks discussing “addiction” or “dependency” when the substance abuser is already an expert? After all, they have lived it first hand! The Jude Thaddeus Program empowers guests to move beyond this counterproductive stage of life.

The Jude Thaddeus Program does not have a built in excuse for failure.
More than 90% of programs in this country including 12-Step programs, medically based programs and religiously based programs are based on the disease theory of addiction and alcoholism. These programs tell their patients that relapse is part of the recovery process and is to be expected. Over the last twenty years, the Jude Thaddeus Program has led the treatment industry away from the disease model and an alternative treatment market has grown based on the Jude Thaddeus Program’s success. However, regardless of their claims, these programs have not completely abandoned disease methodology and still provide a built in excuse for failure.

What is the Jude Thaddeus Program curriculum based upon?
The foundation of the Jude Thaddeus Program curriculum was built during a ten year span (from 1989 – 1999) when both of the founding researchers and authors, Mr. Mark Scheeren and Mr. Gerald Brown, lived at the first retreat house with the guests. During this time a massive effort was put in place to ensure all the educational components, as well as the residential, social aspects of the program were well thought out and effective. No other program in substance abuse history has had as many hours of on-site research, development, and dedication put into a curriculum. This is one of the reasons that the Jude Thaddeus Program is known around the world as the leader in providing real solutions for substance abuse problems.
