The Freedom Model Program is a social educational program and is not an Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility. The individuals who choose to attend the program are considered guests, not clients or patients. Each guest is made to feel welcome as soon as they walk through the door and the guest is immediately aware that the surroundings do not portray a rehabilitation environment.
Our program teaches that every person makes a choice as to how they handle stressful situations or setbacks in their life and that each person needs to accept responsibility for the choices that they make. For each poor decision that a person makes, such as abusing alcohol, there are consequences.
Did You Know?
According to a recent research performed by the Substance Abuse and Health Services Association, in the State of Tennessee for the year 2004 there were 134,000 individuals with an Alcohol Dependency, in the state of Tennessee, surprisingly needing but not receiving treatment for Alcohol Use the number only raises to 296,000 alcohol abusers. This number represents 1.769% of the total population with an Alcohol dependency abuse problem in the United States.
When people look for help with Alcohol addiction, they are looking to solve a problem now and forever. The rates of admissions for Alcohol in 2014 were at 2,038 and they seem to climb every year. These numbers represent real people looking for a real, effective solution but not finding it.
Finding the right help for Alcohol addiction in Tennessee can be done. Treatment isn’t the answer with its high rates of relapse. In addition, treatment teaches you to live a life devoted to preventing addiction instead of leaving it behind you. It’s impossible to end addiction when you spend your time thinking how to make your life smaller to avoid it. You are, in essence, putting the addiction at the center of your life and in charge of what you do and don’t do. Leaving Alcohol in charge of your life is a recipe for relapse.
If you’ve attended traditional treatment, or even just heard about 12 Step or treatment programs, you probably have been told that addiction is a life sentence to a cycle of recovery and relapse. Treatment would have you believe that so you will accept returning to treatment again and again, particularly after relapse. Treatment programs promise relapse as a certainty because their focus is abstinence alone. You are told to fear your “triggers” of use and any stress until your world is very small and centered on fighting off that inevitable relapse. Relapse is inevitable if you are relying on treatment’s limited help for change. In Tennessee alone, of the 2,038 people seeking help for Alcohol, 56.1% or 1,143 relapse in just one year. If treatment were the only alternative this would be terrible news but luckily there is a proven effective alternative.
