Alcohol Rehab Cost

What is it really? What are my options?

Alcohol Rehab CostThe cost of alcohol rehab is certainly a concern for a majority of people who are struggling with an alcohol and/or drug use. Although you may consider "window shopping" around for prices or calling each rehab for a better offer---know that even though a rehab is covered by insurance-it doesn't guarantee higher quality care. What rehabs don't tell you about insurance coverage is that it typically caps off a certain amount and will only cover an average of $14,000 to $20,000; after that the money has to come out of your -or your families' pockets. A majority of a rehab or treatments' average costs are significantly over the average amount the insurance companies cover, so care is never completely free. It's even possible that some rehabs may only give you as much service and the insurance covered amount is worth; which could significantly shorten a 28 or 30 day residential rehab stay. The remaining balance could be financed but in some extreme cases if you credit does not qualify --you could be asked to leave that particular program early.

Why Does Insurance Even Cover Rehab?

The process all began back in the mid 1950's when the American Medical Association passed a resolution declaring alcoholism to be a disease. Since diseases were commonly covered by insurance this allowed doctors to bill third party payers (insurance companies) for treating alcoholics. Had it not defined alcoholism as a disease, physicians wouldn't be able to receive insurance payments. As one defender of the action asserted, "a disease is anything doctors choose to call a disease."[1] The American Hospital Association similarly passed a resolution defining alcoholism as a disease, which enables hospitals to receive payment for patients being treated for alcoholism in their facilities.

The Costs For Rehab Now

Now present day, Freedom Model Retreats annually surveys the cost of 37 drug and alcohol rehab facilities. The study has found that the average cost per day is $667 for a 28-30 day stay. This daily average has risen almost 5.5% from 2010 and continues to increase annually. The average alcohol rehab cost can vary anywhere from a few hundred to thousands of dollars per day depending on the type of facility.

A traditional state level rehab semi-private bedroom such as Hazelden's averages;$1000 per day or $28,000 per cycle.

A luxury rehab such as those popularly found in Malibu California can total anywhere from; $3-6,000 per day and $100k per 28 day cycle.

So what does this mean for you? Getting help with your alcohol problems are worth the cost; but if you aren't getting top quality help what is the point? Historically family members at times are most willing to help with the cost of rehab, but this may cause them to experience financial difficulties especially if their loved one wants to continuously repeat the same program that was not working in the first place.

How Is Freedom Model's Different?

Since we take annual surveys of our competitors alcohol rehab program cost, we know where we stand. Our program is 54 to 59% more affordable because we are not a state run facility and run by limited resources. Freedom Model's prefers to stay this way because we are a non-treatment, educational program and not a rehab; which makes your Freedom Model experience truly unlike any other program you have attended before.

Through our extensive research we have discovered that traditional rehab and the 12 step process do not work and are not an effective way to help someone with an alcohol problem. Furthermore; we are the only non-diseased based program right now; which means our guests are not diagnosed with a disease or addiction; our concept is truly about self-responsibility and choices.

Some of the state run rehabs around the country use the same ineffective principles taught in AA but are charging thousands of dollars for a program with a 5% or less success rate. Even the outrageously priced rehab centers are using the same principles, that are destined to fail, in a lavish setting. We understand the difficult financial restraints this causes on you or your family so our goal is to provide superior tools and instruction, proven to work the first time around unlike these 12 step rehabs. Our program additionally lasts for 6 weeks or 28 days and costs on average a 1/3 less than the amount of traditional state run rehabs. Even the Freedom Model's Executive Luxury Retreat is more affordable than conventional rehab centers with mediocre accommodations.

The Freedom Model program offers excellent financing options through a 3rd party company called M-Lend Financial; which offers 0% APR for those who quality and some have even received extensions of 24 months depending on their credit score. There is no application fees for M-Lend and generally same-day approvals. M-Lend also lets anyone apply on the guests behalf but does not allow co-signing. For instances where cosigning is necessary there is another agency to use.

Overall our program is at a much lower cost so we can help the maximum amount of people. Family members can be assured that monthly payments are affordable so their loved ones can receive the true help they need to get their life back together. In addition to financing our program is a non-profit organization and dedicates a portion of our scholarship funds to help offset the cost of our program. Scholarships are granted typically on a case by case basis. Our goal is to help you overcome your problem in a positive environment that is truly affordable to all economic backgrounds.
